Adults’ ears are far too sensitive; the sighing that accompanies the clacking of keyboards at the next table, the ceaseless pinging of mobile notifications, and a barrage of accusations—large and small, real and imagined—act like countless tiny needles, leaving them restless and unable to quiet their minds, constantly fretting over trivialities. Why do people keep their ears so wide open to such unpleasant sounds? And so, Tide plops down right in the middle of the clamorous intersection. With head bowed and gaze fixed on the light upon its legs, it remains immersed in its own little world; no matter how raucous the surroundings, it is as if Tide has hit the mute button. It silently conveys a message to every sensitive adult: the world is a noisy place, but just like me, you need only embrace the things in life you love the most.
